Maymox Gen

Composition: Each gram powder contains Amoxycillin trihydrate 150 mg, Gentamicin (Sulfate) 150 mg.

Pharmacology

Broad Spectrum β- lactam antibiotic. It binds with transpeptidase enzyme of bacterial cytoplasmic membrane. Inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis (essential component of cell wall). Cell wall become weakend, swelling and then ruptured. The bacterial cell wall will be osmotically unstable and cell lysis will occur.

Gentamicin irreversibly binds to the 30S ribosomal fragment and inhibit the rate of protein synthesis and the fidelity of mRNA translation which results in the synthesis of abnormal proteins.

Indications

Dairy: Pneumonia, Diarrhoea, Mastitis, Metritis, skin abscess etc.

Poultry: CRD, CCRD, E.Coli, Salmonellosis, Infectious Coryza, Pasteurellosis etc.

Withdrawal period

Broiler – 3 days

Meat- 7 days, Milk- 2 days

Dosage & Administration

Dairy: 2 gm /80 kg body weight twice daily for consecutive 3-5 days.

Poultry:

In Prevention: 1 gm in 4 L drinking water for 3-5 days

In treatment: 1 gm in 2 L drinking water for 3-5 days.

Fish: 2 gm /80 kg body weight twice daily for consecutive 3-5 days.
